HISTORY

Eurit, was established in 1971 as a company specialised in research and mining of feldspar mines. In the late ‘80s the company joined the Colorobbia Group.

The eurite, mined from the mining concession “La Crocetta” of Porto Azzurro (LI) and from the concession “San Rocco”, Marciana (LI), was immediately utilised ESPECIALLY for the production of porous single-fired ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware

Late ’90s:
acquisition of the Coalino d’Italia company thus enriching the range of products with rhyolites altered to kaolin quarried from the mine “I Piloni”, Roccastrada (GR).
1998:
A planned widening of the ore deposit and investments to increase the mining activity made the mine “I Piloni” (exploited in the first half of the last century for kaolin mining by hand and underground) more valuable.
2009:
Eurit enlarged its storage capacity by equipping a 2,300 sq m area in a highly strategic position near the harbour area of Piombino.
2011:
The mining concession “La Crocetta” was renewed by the Extension Managerial Decree issued by the Region of Tuscany for 20 years, until 2031, to guarantee a continuous supply of the mined products.
2012:
Eurit incorporated the Coalino d’Italia company.
